For some reason I’m logic the Map doesn’t correspond to any names.
The drum map thing is kinda the big issue. But once I manually find it, then everything is basically there. The library doesn’t show up completely in Kontakt. And everything I do in my DAW is practically a workaround because I used an underpowered machine for so long.īut I’m pretty sure all the sounds and functions are there, it’s just that this and Kontakt aren’t truly both on the same page it seems. I kinda figured that was me who fucked up the install. Nolly has also recommended using the low 100s-115 velocities as your main hits, so if your old MIDI uses maxed out velocities you may have to go back and do some editing to optimize the sound. Something also to know is that some users have created EZD/SSD to GGD drum maps to help use ToonTrack MIDI in GGD, but it's a bit of a pain that mapping is different. Will likely be fixed but just FYI if you get it and run into issues.
#Ezdrummer 2 vs getgood drums install#
It looks like they've been having some technical issues based on the posts coming out of the FB account: download and install issues, as well as maxing out CPU on many users computers.
I've got the original GGD pack from a few years ago, this one is supposed to be much more detailed. So def, the easiest I’ve TRIED in getting great raw drum sounds that actually should be pretty easy to fit in the mix. So the workflow seems great so far, and the samples are good enough that I don’t really feel much processing is necessary. Which is how i like to operate with my OWN drums. I fooled with ez drummer a bit, and to me, this is set up in a way I can get a pretty slamming drum mix without a ton of effort, with the raw samples. I used to use the original Battery with the first drum kit from hell and a few others over the years. It’s been years since I delved back into sample libraries. Then u have each cymbal with its own dedicated fader to adjust overall volume of those and pretty much good to go. I don’t think the toms have a trigger sample fader, but I would never use one them anyway. The available mics and trigger sample are all I need so far to get a kit I find sounds great. And just using these faders I can mix up my own, fairly, unique, sounding snare within a moment. Snare top, bottom, trigger, OH, room close, room far. So, for instance the snare, you open up it’s individual window and you get 6 mixer faders. All these settings are accessed in Kontakt via the individual drum panes. Which I think they include 4 different trigger tones to choose to “back up” the real sound. So for me, finding the right sound is really as simple as mixing the available mics of the raw sound with a triggered sound. But to have it so easily integrated and SOUNDING right with no time at all, I definitely haven’t experienced. Which probably is normal these days to be included, I don’t know. Which has been a studio standard method forever. Meaning they already have basically a triggered sample ready to go and be mixed WITH the raw sample. The raw kick and snare have a trigger sample you can select as it’s own slider.
